This past year brought us much success and even more change. We had a very successful year and were able to present a check to Between Friends in the amount of $6,500. More than double of what we were able to give in 2009! This is due, largely in part to the wonderful additions to the Reach Out Board.

For 2011, we have partnered up with the Chicago Metropolitan Battered Women’s Network. The Chicago Metropolitan Battered Women's Network (CMBWN) believes in a woman's right to self determination in all aspects of her life, and that living free from violence is a basic human right. We believe that violence against women is a violation of these rights, and is rooted in a societal imbalance of power and control. We use our collective voice to ensure that, in the face of this violence, every community provides safe, confidential and accessible services for battered women and their children. Our collaborative work to end violence against women is an integral part of a broader social justice movement against discrimination and oppression.

We are very excited for this opportunity and partnership with CMBWN to continue to "reach out" to victims of domestic abuse!
