The CMBWN believes in a woman's right to self determination in all aspects of her life, and that living free from violence is a basic human right. We believe that violence against women is a violation of these rights, and is rooted in a societal imbalance of power and control. We use our collective voice to ensure that, in the face of this violence, every community provides safe, confidential and accessible services for battered women and their children. Our collaborative work to end violence against women is an integral part of a broader social justice movement against discrimination and oppression.
